The government plans to create a “digital identity and attributes governance framework” for the future use of digital ID – an alternative to physical ID such as passports and bank statements. The government has highlighted that these measures would be relevant to the conveyancing process where customers are often asked to provide ID several times in the course of a transaction and it is hoped they would speed up the conveyancing process.
